In order to promote business opportunities, trading and investment between Germany and Panama, was held the first edition of the Panama Business Day. This important event was supported by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
The conference was attended by a delegation led by Minister of Trade and Industry, Meliton Arrocha, and included officials of the Panama Pacific Agency, the Superintendency of Banks, the Colon Free Zone, the Panama Maritime Authority and Etesa.
The schedule included issues related to business opportunities that Panama offers in the financial, energy and maritime sector, as well as the benefits of special economic zones.
Mr. Heinz Dickmann, Head of Promotion of Foreign Trade and International Markets of the Chamber of Commerce of Hamburg and Christoph Schmitt, CEO of Lateinamerika Verein, they expressed satisfaction with the significant participation of entrepreneurs and German investors in the activity to generate and promote business opportunities between the two countries.
Before the event, were developed a series of meetings with officials of the German Parliament and Committee for Economic Cooperation, Development and Energy, coordinated by the Embassy of Panama in Berlin and the General Consulate of Panama in Hamburg.
The city of Hamburg in Germany, was the host of the first edition of the Panama Business Day, a major event aimed at promoting trade between Panama and Germany. As part of this event, Panama was invited to participate in the fair COTECA 2016 with its excellent coffee and cocoa, to be held in this European city next year.
